SAN ANGELO, TX - Legacy Class ShareLunker 668 was yanked out of O.H. Ivie recently, but the "Lunker Bunker," the holding facility in Athens, TX, for the bass, is full.
The 13.14-pound bass was reeled in by angler Keith Hall of Granbury, TX.
Information released states that there have been 10 ShareLunkers already donated by anglers from O.H. Ivie for selective spawning and broodstock development and limited space in the Lunker Bunker. This led to the decision to not transport this fish to Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center.
TPWD biologists certified and collected catch and genetic information on this fish to help further evaluate and direct future stocking and management efforts.
Because of Hall’s willingness to donate and coordinate with TPWD to provide this data, he will receive all prizes and accolades associated with the Legacy Class, including a fiberglass replica of his Lunker.
The spawning collection season is still underway through the end of March, and ShareLunkers will continue to be transported to the Lunker Bunker at TFFC until capacity is reached or the season ends.
The program asks to please continue to call the ShareLunker Hotline when anglers catch a 13+ pound ShareLunker through the end of the collection season. The number is (903) 681-0550.
Another Lunker was reeled in on the same lake by Kirk Markgraf, who submitted a 12.03-pound bass to the TPWD ShareLunker program.
Markgraf caught this bass from O.H. Ivie Reservoir on March 14 and was awarded the Strike King Elite Class.
