SAN ANGELO, TX — A new Italian restaurant is set to open its doors in San Angelo, replacing the former Japanese buffet at 3029 Sherwood Way.
The new eatery in town will be known as “Di Roma.”
The name Di Roma is inspired by a restaurant in San Diego where the owner's father worked as a chef.
“He was thinking, ‘One day I’m going to open my own business with that name,’” the owner said, mentioning that her father harbored this dream for 40 years.
Now, bringing this vision to life, her father will helm the kitchen as the head chef of Di Roma.
According to one of the owners speaking to San Angelo LIVE!, the restaurant is scheduled for a soft opening this weekend, pending the receipt of a necessary permit.
A grand opening celebration is anticipated to follow in “a couple of weeks.”
Di Roma will offer both Italian and American food.
