'Non-Deportable Alien' Facing Justice for Local Shooting Incident

SAN ANGELO— A 'Non-Deportable Alien' has been indicted for shooting a handgun in the air at a party last fall.

Eduardo Gamez, 21, was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury in February on two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon for drunkenly shooting a gun at a party.

On October 10, 2023, at about 5:00 a.m., Tom Green County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a “shots fired” call on the 4000 block of Herbert Road in San Angelo. Both victims said that the defendant, identified as Gamez, walked up to the victims and produced a handgun. He asked for their car keys.

He was stopped leaving the property by a group of women who took his keys away from him. Shortly after that, Gamez walked up to the victim and pulled out a “black Glock”. He left the scene in a blue Dodge Charger and shot six shots in the air.

A witness said that Gamez that “he has more people that would shoot up the house”. During the investigation, a 9mm shell casing was found in the middle of the road.

Deputies located Gamez and were provided his data sheet where it said that Gamez is an “non-deportable alien” and that he was born in Mexico. He was arrested back in 2021 at the Del Rio International Bridge.

Gamez was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail on October 26, 2023, and was released on October 30, 2023, on $50,000 bond. He is due to report on March 20, 2024.
