Grand Jury Indicts Suspect for Stalking, Touching Child

SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo man has been indicted for stalking and indecency with a child after getting into bed with a minor.

Mario Salazar, 46, was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury on two counts of Indecency with a Child Sexual Contact and one count of Stalking.

According to the indictment, on October 25, October 30, October 31, and November 7 of 2023, Salazar was stalking a woman and would not leave her property, trespassed on her property, waited just outside her property, and watched her from outside her place of employment.

Then, on November 7, 2023, according to court documents, a police report said that a 14-year-old allegedly was asleep in bed when Salazar got into bed with the child. Salazar embraced the minor from behind. The child felt uncomfortable and left the room.

After speaking with the child, she stated that on June 15, 2023, while at a residence on the 60 block of Cinnamon Lane, Salazar got into bed with the minor and touched her body in a sexual manner. He also held onto the child tightly for several minutes.

Salazar allegedly admitted that before June 16, 2023, he would get into bed with the minor and hug her with his arms and hands. He also said he kissed her cheek and hair as he hugged her. Then, he allegedly said that he squeezed the sides of her chest and touching the child’s chest over the bed’s covers.

Salazar was arrested on November 7, 2023, and is still in the Tom Green County Jail being held on $485,464.00 bond. He is next due in court on March 19, 2024, for an initial pre-trial hearing.

Even though his bond is nearly a half million, he's in Tom Green County. He'll take the plea deal and get deferred adjudication and probation. TG district atty must have a soft spot in his heart for pedophiles.
