Teen Got Drunk, Passed Out and was Left for Dead, Some Say

SAN ANGELO, TX — Bruno Velasquez, a resident of San Angelo, expressed his frustration this morning on Facebook, sharing a concerning photo of his grandson lying intubated in a hospital bed.

"Seeking information about the party last night that allowed minors to drink and also looking to find out who abandoned my grandson on the side of the road like trash. Please reach out if you have any leads. I will not rest until I find those responsible," the grandfather posted on Facebook.

According to the police, a report regarding underage drinking at a party surfaced in the 1400 block of W. Harris Ave. However, upon arrival, authorities found no evidence of such activity. The initial 9-1-1 call was placed by a concerned mother whose daughter had been invited to the gathering. Following the distressing update about Mr. Velasquez’s grandson on Facebook this morning, we conducted our investigation. It was discovered that the party actually took place in the same vicinity but on E. Harris Ave., and the police were not notified. Moreover, there were no reports of any disturbances or underage drinking gatherings on E. Harris Ave. last night or early this morning.

The party was promoted on SnapChat. And even the promoters of the party didn't know if the location was on East or West Harris.

The party was apparently aimed at celebrating a 17-year-old girl's birthday, according to SnapChat "snaps."

The grandson, reportedly 18 years old, was discovered unconscious on the curb of 19th St. around 3 a.m. He received treatment for alcohol poisoning, and doctors expect him to make a full recovery.

While initial suspicions pointed towards malicious intent, it appears the responsibility may lie with the adult grandson's actions. To gain further insight into the situation, one might recall the song by Koe Wetzel, recounting a similar experience of passing out after excessive drinking in Stephenville and waking up in the Erath County Jail—an incident that inspired one of his top hits.

La-la-la-la, let's pull over
I can't hold it, will you turn the music up?
And let's play critter critter
Who is sober enough to take me to Taco Bell?

We reached out to Mr. Velasquez and he has not responded to our initial request.
