Angelo State University will kick off the 2015 fall semester with its annual Rambunctious Weekend Aug. 20-23 with a wide variety of activities designed to help new students make the transition to college life and to welcome back returning students.
The activities are coordinated by a number of campus organizations, including Student Life, Housing and Residential Programs, University Recreation and more.
“During this weekend,” said Heather Valle Brown, assistant director of Student Life, “students begin to develop residence hall pride, complete any necessary university business, learn ASU traditions, learn more about involvement opportunities and participate in a city-wide community service program. Rambunctious Weekend then culminates in the Welcome Back Picnic at the ASU Lake House.”
This year, students will be able to move into residence halls a day earlier, on Thursday, with classes commencing on Monday, Aug. 24. Other highlights of the weekend include the First-Year Quest, a team-building and ice-breaking opportunity organized by University Recreation and scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 22, and Angelo Serves, a community-wide service event scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 23.
