SAN ANGELO— The Reagan County Owls defeated the Colorado City Wolves at the Junell Center last night, 63-46.
The Bi-District matchup between Reagan County and Colorado City was tight until the end, especially in the first quarter where the Owls led by two, 20-18. At halftime, the Wolves were still hot on the Owl’s trail as they were only behind four points, 35-31. Colorado City kept fighting and stayed in it through the third quarter where they were down 45-40.
The Owls defense stepped up in the fourth, holding the Wolves to only six points where they scored 18. Two three-point shots, courtesy of Jarrett Brown and AJ Avalos, and seven from Kason Brown helped seal the victory.
Kason Brown ended up leading the Owls in scoring with 27 points with two three-point shots sank over the game. Colorado City’s Mayson Monroe led his team with 20 points, including one three pointer.
The Reagan County Owls will take on the Ropes Eagles this Friday, February 23, 2024, at Howard College in Big Spring at 6:00 p.m.
