AUSTIN, TX —An Austin resident and McNeil High School alumnus, 24-year-old Ben Duong has successfully broken a unique dribbling world record. Duong was sponsored by the San Antonio Spurs and is now recognized by the Guinness World Records as becoming the fastest person to ever finish a half marathon while dribbling a ball. Duong demolished the previous record of 1 hour, 25 minutes.
To secure the record, Duong undertook the challenge of maintaining continuous dribbling throughout the entire run. Strict rules dictated that he couldn't pick up the ball while running, and any loss of control would require him to return to the point of the mishap and resume dribbling.
Duong, who participated in track and cross country at McNeil High School, continued his athletic pursuits at Dallas Baptist University while working towards a bachelor’s degree. Currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Duong's dedication to his sport and impressive dribbling achievement reflect his commitment to excellence.
