SAN ANGELO, TX — The No. 1 Angelo State Rams hit the road this weekend to play a Lone Star Conference matchup against the University of Texas Permian Basin in Odessa. The four-game series begins on Friday, February 16, with Game 1, continues with a doubleheader on Saturday, and finally concludes on Sunday, February 18.

Last time out, the Rams swept Cameron for four LSC wins in their home debut in San Angelo last weekend. The offense was not a problem in the four games as the Rams outscored Cameron 54-7, including 24 runs in Game 4.
The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association named ASU’s Tripp Clark the South Central Region’s hitter of the week for his performance against the Aggies. Clark went 8-13 with four home runs, a triple, and 13 RBIs on the weekend.

UTPB currently sports a 6-2 overall record, the same as the Rams, and is one of the up-and-coming teams in the conference. Brooks said he’s impressed with the Falcons' progress and that the Rams cannot underestimate them headed into this weekend’s action. First pitch is scheduled for Friday, February 16, at 2 p.m.
