Palmer Feed's 'Sack-it Don't Wrap it' Yields $4,000 for Local Charities

SAN ANGELO, TX - The gifts of Christmas 2023 will keep giving thanks to Concho Valley residents and Palmer Feed’s annual “Sack-it Don’t Wrap it” campaign.

Information from the business states that sewing presents up in a feed bag rather than wrapping them is a "tradition in the Palmer family that dates back over three decades." 

Now, the public is invited to participate in this tradition by bringing their gifts to be "sacked" for a donation of $4. Palmer Feed will then match the money and donate it to local charities.

This year Palmer will give donation checks to four local organizations. The West Texas Boys Ranch, Sonrisas Trails Therapeutic Riding, Hospice of San Angelo, and West Texas Rehabilitation Center will each be awarded $1000.

“Our tradition is to support people who play a vital role in helping our neighbors here in our region. These four groups make such a difference," Palmer Feed Vice President Bridget Scott said. "We are blessed to have them here and our whole team is excited to help them with their missions.” 

The official check presentation will take place at Palmer Feed on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 1:30 p.m.

Representatives from Palmer, West Texas Rehabilitation Center, Hospice of San Angelo, Sonrisas Trails Therapeutic Riding, and the West Texas Boys Ranch will be available for questions or photos.

In addition to numerous types of goods donations and hosting of fundraising events, Palmer has donated well over $40,000 in cash donations in recent years.
