SAN ANGELO, TX - The San Angelo Rodeo is set to host a drawing for Mutton Bustin' participants this month and the signup period is open.
The drawing will take place via Facebook Live on the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Facebook page, scheduled for February 21st at 4 p.m.
Contestants who wish to participate are encouraged to tune in to the live drawing. If selected, they will have until March 1st at 5 p.m. to confirm their spot by paying a non-refundable $35 entry fee. Winners will be notified via email, and failure to confirm by the specified time will result in the loss of the contestant's spot.
The drawing will also determine the performance times for each contestant, with slots assigned sequentially starting from the first performance. No trades will be allowed, and if a contestant is unable to compete at their appointed time, an alternate from a waiting list will fill the spot.
Participants must adhere to specific rules to ensure a safe and fair competition. Contestants must be 50 pounds or less at the time of their performance, and all riders will be weighed on-site before competing. Additionally, participants must be four years old or older and ride facing forward. Safety equipment will be provided by SASSRA, and no ropes or additional equipment are allowed.
The coveted prize for each performance winner is a buckle sponsored by Sonora Bank. Check-in time is one hour before the scheduled performance at the Coliseum Box Office.
