Frontal Systems Bringing Coldest Temps of the Season & a Prolonged Freeze

SAN ANGELO – A Wind Advisory is in effect for West Central Texas from 10 p.m. tonight to 8 a.m. Friday morning.

Strong winds are anticipated following the passage of a cold front, featuring sustained west to northwest winds ranging from 25 to 40 mph. Gusts may reach up to 55 mph. There's a slight chance of light snow in the far northern areas of the Big Country but not here in the Concho Valley.

Looking ahead to Friday through Wednesday:

A bitterly cold Arctic front is poised to sweep through, bringing frigid temperatures to the region from Saturday into the early part of next week. Wind chill values on Monday and Tuesday mornings are expected to plummet to the single digits, with some areas experiencing temperatures near or below zero. Currently, no precipitation is forecasted during this period.
