SAN ANGELO, Texas—Law enforcement officials booked 17 individuals into the Tom Green County Jail in the last 24 hours on a variety of charges including Illegal Immigration, Possession of Marijuana and hard drugs, DWI and Failure to Appear in Court.

DPS Troopers arrested Juan Anguiano-Montoya, 40; Isreal Mazarin-Caranza, 30; and Ivan Najer-Esquival, 35, for Misc Border Patrol Holds which is normal. They could have been arrested under a new Texas law that makes illegal immigration a state crime. They were booked into the TGCJ around 5:30 p.m. Saturday and are being held pending transfer to federal custody.
DPS Troopers also arrested Walter Leon Twain Bryant, III, 37, for Possession of between 2 ozs and 4 ozs of Marijuana, Possession of between 4 grams and 200 grams of Hallucinogens, and Driving While Intoxicated. Bryant was booked into jail at 4:02 a.m. Sunday. His bond is $2000.00 for the Marijuana and DWI charges. Bond for the hard drug charge will be set by a Justice of the Peace at a magistrate hearing later.
