SAN ANGELO, TX - The City of San Angelo announced that the 2024 recycling and bulk pickup schedules from Republic Services are now available.
According to information from Republic Services, along with customers’ regular weekly waste collection, Republic will alternate between collecting recycling or bulk each week.
There will be no changes to normal collection days.
Recycling and bulk collection will coincide with patrons’ regularly scheduled waste collection day.
Each week, residents in the corresponding shaded map area should expect to have recycling or bulk collected.

Republic Services also stated that customers can now place all recycling in one cart with no sorting, though all recyclables must be empty, clean, dry, and not bagged.
The following items should be placed in a recycling cart:
- Flattened corrugated cardboard
- Boxboard, cereal, and frozen food boxes
- Plastics #1 and #2. #1 Plastics include soda and water bottles, mouthwash bottles, peanut butter jars, salad dressing, and vegetable oil plastics. The latter three should be cleaned before recycling. #2 Plastics include milk jugs, juice bottles, bleach, detergent and household cleaner bottles, and shampoo bottles
- Steel, tin, and aluminum cans
- Empty aerosol cans
What not to recycle:
- Plastic grocery bags or trash bags
- Mixed papers and plastics #3-#7 are no longer acceptable
- Batteries
- Polystyrene foam (food containers, cups and packing peanuts)
- Glass
- Foil
- Pill bottles
- Plastic or metal clothes hangers
- Light bulbs
- Frozen food bags and chip bags
- Hazardous or toxic product containers (Paint cans or light fluid containers)
- Food and wet waste
- Food-contaminated paper plates and napkins
- Appliances and electronics
- Bubble wrap
- Garden hoses
- Rubber balls and sports equipment
- Tires or wood
- Yard waste
