SAN ANGELO, TX — The first baby in San Angelo for 2024 required a day, for he was born early this morning, Jan. 2, at Shannon Medical Center.

The first San Angelo baby of 2024 is Matthew James Schmidt. He was born January 2, 2024 at 7:51 am. He is 7 lbs, 19.75 inches long.

His mother is Shelby Schmidt of San Angelo. He has two older brothers, Noah (9) and Michael (3).
