UPDATE: SAN ANGELO, TX – NOW OPEN! The Food Mart located where the old Tres Amigos convenience store once was near H-E-B is now fully open and fully stocked with various products. The mart offers traditional convenience store items such as soft drinks, candy, and chips, but also provides a wide selection of smoke shop products like vapes and CBD options.
SAN ANGELO, TX - A new Food Mart convenience store is opening soon in the former Tres Amigos location next to the old H-E-B on Ave. N. at 1801 College Hills Blvd. After the local convenience stores sold out, the new owners promptly shuttered the store, which sat vacant for several months.
Assistant General Manager Jon Zachariah shared insights about the upcoming venture, explaining that the owner is expanding his existing business portfolio with this addition. The owner also operates additional convenience stores along with other business ventures in San Angelo and surrounding counties. The new Food Mart will be in the former Tres Amigos convenience store building.
Zachariah highlighted the unique product offerings that will distinguish the convenience store. The Food Mart section is slated to stock various grocery items that will encompass most of the typical staples found at most small grocery stores. Additionally, the store will feature a smoke shop section, catering to customers seeking products like vapes, and CBD items. Zachariah was especially enthusiastic about informing future customers about their massive selection of vapes.

The business is set for a soft opening scheduled for sometime this week, according to Zachariah. Moreover, plans are underway for a grand opening event slated for the end of January.
With convenience in mind, Zachariah detailed the store's operational hours, indicating that the establishment is currently accessible to patrons from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. However, Zachariah expressed that their hours of operation will soon expand after their grand opening is complete which will allow them to better serve San Angelo. The Food Mart's permanent business hours will be updated to 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and will go into effect on grand opening day.
Zachariah exclaimed that the Food Mart would be San Angelo's only Valero gas station and the first one in a long time. The addition of this Valero gas station and Food Mart not only provides a new shopping option for residents but also expands the range of products available in the area, aiming to cater to diverse consumer preferences.
Zachariah also said that the new location is accepting applications for store clerks.
