ARLINGTON, TX - The Arlington Police Department has made multiple arrests in connection to a fight and shooting that occurred on Thursday, Dec. 28, at the Parks Mall.
- 19-year-old Damius Lindon was booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of Fighting in Public.
- 19-year-old Jaccques Jacques was booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of Fighting in Public.
- 17-year-old Careco Harris will be charged with one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
- 18-year-old Kaiden Jackson was booked into the Arlington City Jail on two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned Lindon, Jacques, and Harris were at the mall together and got into a verbal argument with Jackson and some other individuals he was with, apparently over one of them speaking to someone else’s girlfriend.
The fight turned physical as the two groups were coming down the escalator near the ice rink inside the mall.
During the altercation, investigators believe Harris pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the other group, and then hit one of them with it.
It does not appear that he fired any shots.
At some point during the fight, the gun fell out of Harris’ hand.
Investigators believe Jackson then picked it up and fired at Harris, striking him in the arm.
A 38-year-old woman who was nearby and not involved in the fight was also struck in the leg.
Both she and Harris were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Harris was placed under arrest at the hospital and will be booked into the Tarrant County Jail once he is medically cleared.
After speaking to witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage of the incident, officers quickly located Lindon and Jacques near one of the mall exits. They were detained and ultimately arrested.
Jackson left the mall after the shooting. Once investigators were able to identify him, they located him at his parents’ home in Mansfield where he was taken into custody without incident.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
