CARLSBAD, TX — Law enforcement communications indicated on Friday afternoon that DPS State Troopers and emergency medical personnel responded to reports of a shooting victim. Later we learned there were two shooting victims.

The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic incident involving a fatal shooting in Carlsbad.
On Friday, December 22, at approximately 12:21 PM, deputies responded to a call reporting a gunshot victim at a residence situated in the 11000 block of Texas Oak Road. Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement discovered a male and a female, both having sustained gunshot wounds.
Regrettably, the female was pronounced dead at the scene. The male was swiftly transported to Shannon Hospital but, despite medical efforts, died of his injuries.
Out of respect for the families involved, the identities of the victims are being withheld until proper family notifications have been made.
The sheriff said there is no active threat to the public associated with this incident.
The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office said it is fully committed to uncovering the facts surrounding this tragic event and will provide updates as the investigation progresses.

On Friday, December 22, multiple law enforcement and emergency service vehicles could be seen outside a residence north of Carlsbad.
Our San Angelo LIVE! Reporter on the scene saw an ambulance, escorted by DPS Troopers, leave the residence and head back towards San Angelo. Crime scene tape was set up at the scene.
