Sheriff Requests Help Ending Crime Wave in Quail Valley Area

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office is urgently calling for public assistance in identifying multiple suspects linked to a recent surge in thefts of heavy equipment, including utility tractors, trailers, motorcycles, and all-terrain vehicles. This crime wave has particularly affected the Quail Valley area in Tom Green County.

A series of thefts have been reported over the past few months, with the following incidents highlighting the growing concern:

  • October 13, 2023: In the 2700 block of Red Creek Road, suspects attempted to steal an ATV but were unsuccessful. However, they did manage to take a Mahindra Tractor.
  • October 31, 2023: On O'Bryan Lane, a 2023 Yanmar Utility Tractor and a Suzuki KingQuad were stolen.
  • December 7, 2023: A John Deere Skid Steer was taken from the 1200 block of Red Creek Road.
  • December 2023: In the 6200 block of Green Oakes Drive, thieves stole a Mahindra Tractor and a flatbed utility trailer, although the trailer was later recovered in Quail Valley.
  • In an effort to apprehend the culprits, the Sheriff's Office has released photographs of suspect vehicles captured at the crime scenes. The images include a white, newer model Chevrolet pickup truck and a dark-colored pickup, possibly a Dodge, with a dove tail trailer.

The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office is sharing this information to raise community awareness and urges residents to take extra precautions in securing their property. They also request that locals remain vigilant for vehicles matching the suspects' descriptions and report any sightings.

Sergeant Michael Farmer and Lieutenant William Fiveash of the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office are leading the investigation. They encourage anyone with information that could assist in resolving these crimes and returning the stolen equipment to its rightful owners to come forward.
