SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Howard Street project in west San Angelo is set to resume its activities this week, focusing on utility and roadway enhancements.
The upcoming construction will lead to road closures impacting specific stretches:
-
The section from Junius Street to Woodlawn Drive along Howard Street will be closed from Monday, Nov. 20, through Monday, Nov. 27. However, there will be a temporary reopening to traffic starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, just before Thanksgiving Day, followed by another closure on Monday. It's anticipated that the project will continue until spring 2024. During weekends, the road will be accessible to traffic, only to be closed again on Monday mornings, progressing to a new block. Further closures for upcoming blocks will be announced once scheduled.
-
The segment spanning Howard Street from Glenna Drive to Wilson Street will also face closure starting Monday, Nov. 20, extending through Monday, Dec. 4. This closure will impact through traffic on Field, Chapman, and Wilson streets, along with any alleys nestled in between.
Amid these road closures, businesses within these affected areas remain open and accessible, ensuring continued access for patrons despite the ongoing construction.
