Low Water Pressure Affecting the 'Upper Plane' in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX — The City of San Angelo’s Water Department has reported a decrease in water pressure, attributing the issue to a punctured water main leading to the Bluffs area water tank.

At present, city water crews are diligently working to repair the damaged water line. During this period of repair, residents and businesses located in The Bluffs, Southland, College Hills, and the Lake Nasworthy neighborhoods may experience reduced water pressure.

The City has identified a "utility" company as the responsible party for the water line damage but didn't name it. We learned it was AEP. Unfortunately, there is currently no estimated time provided for when the repairs are expected to be completed.

It is important to note that the water system affected is part of the "Upper Plane" of the city’s water distribution network, which is located beneath the majority of the aforementioned neighborhoods. In contrast, the "Lower Plane" serves the northern, central, and eastern parts of San Angelo. Due to its location, delivering water to the "Upper Plane" necessitates a higher pressure, explaining the noticeable drop in water pressure for residents and businesses in those areas.
