SAN ANGEL, TX — A San Angelo man was arrested on Monday for aggravated assault and several other crimes after getting upset with the victim and threatening to kill her.
Bobby Daniels, 42, has been arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Resist Arrest Search or Transport, and Evading Arrest Detention with a Previous Conviction.
According to court documents, on October 12, 2023, a San Angelo police officer was dispatched to the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office regarding a domestic disturbance. Once the officer arrived, it was learned that an aggravated assault had taken place on the 200 block of West 1st Street in San Angelo, Texas.
The victim stated that a verbal altercation had begun on the morning of October 12, 2023, between her and the defendant, identified as Daniels. The victim said the argument started over her not being intimate with Daniels and her not having a clean set of boxers ready for him after he had soiled his own.
Then, the victim stated that Daniels grabbed a cane that the victim uses to do laundry and acted as if he was going to throw it at her. She used her left arm to block Daniels from hitting her with the cane. He ended up swinging the cane and making contact with her left arm, resulting in a bruise. The victim then recalled Daniels yelling that he was going to kill her.
The victim voiced her discomfort and pain in her arm and crawled backward to avoid further assault from Daniels. She then got up and ran into the kitchen to escape Daniels. However, he followed the victim and grabbed a curved filet-style knife out of the sink and threatened the victim by stating, “B*tch, I’ll cut you and kill you.”.
This statement put the victim in fear for her life, and she believes that Daniels is fully capable of following through with his alleged threat.
As the victim began to run away, Daniels kicked at her and made contact with her left upper rear thigh, leaving another bruise. Daniels then allegedly grabbed and slammed the victim on the bed, got on top of her, placed one hand over her mouth, and the other around her throat and applied pressure. The victim felt herself begin to lose consciousness when Daniels released his grip.
Daniels allegedly had a parole meeting to get to, which allowed the victim to gather some belongings and leave. She was dropped off at the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office.
The next day on October 13, 2023, a police officer advised that they responded to the 200 block of West 1st Street, and Daniels had returned to the residence. Pictures were taken of the injuries that the victim had sustained.
On October 16, 2023, Daniels was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Resist Arrest Search or Transport, and Evading Arrest Detention with a Previous Conviction and was booked into the Tom Green County Jail. Daniels is currently being held on a $128,000 bond.
