Local Pizza Joint to Host Cancer Awareness Event

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State University's Office of the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health (LWBIWH) and the Old Central Firehouse Pizzeria and Taproom will host their sixth annual Breast Cancer Awareness Profit Share fundraising event on Thursday, Oct. 19, at the restaurant location at 200 S. Magdalen St.

The Profit Share will run from 5-8 p.m. and will feature the Old Central Firehouse donating 20% of all profits made during that time to the LWBIWH.

Additionally, an accompanying online Silent Auction will run from Tuesday, Oct. 17, to the evening of Oct. 19. The online auction features items donated by a variety of local businesses and civic groups, including:

  • Tom's Tire Pros
  • Olive's Nursery
  • Blonde & Co.
  • The Bearded Barista

The auction website is located at https://one.bidpal.net/laurawbushatoldcentralfirehouse/browse/all. All proceeds from the Silent Auction will go to the LWBIWH to serve the health needs of the Concho Valley.

Since its inception in 2010, the ASU Office of the LWBIWH has promoted women's health in the Concho Valley through scientific investigation, translation of science into practice, and providing outreach and services that impact the community. More details are available at angelo.edu/laura-bush.
