Bigger than Sports: Fields of Faith 2023

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Thousands of athletes and students around the Concho Valley gathered on Wednesday night, September 27, at San Angelo Stadium for the Concho Valley FCA’s (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) annual Fields of Faith. It was a night of revival and fellowship for the Christian youth across the San Angelo area and a great experience to be a part of all around.

 

This year’s Fields of Faith featured the Randy Wood Band opening up with a few songs before Ballinger High School head football coach Ty Lang gave a small introduction. Throughout the evening, students from across the Concho Valley (Christoval, Central, and Irion County High Schools) stood in front of the 4,500-plus people in attendance to give their testimonies. Other speakers included Angelo State Baseball player and 2023 National Champion Cody Kingman and Special Speaker Kevin Kirkland, who led the gospel.

The Concho Valley Fellowship of Christian Athletes is an organization that serves junior high and high school campuses across the area. Schools part of the Concho Valley FCA are Ballinger HS, Central HS, Eldorado HS, Eden HS, Irion County HS, Junction HS, Lake View HS, Menard HS, Miles HS, Reagan County HS, Sanderson HS, Sonora HS, TLCA HS, Veribest HS, Wall HS, Water Valley HS, and Winters HS. New Certifications that will happen in 2023-24: Grape Creek HS, Ozona HS, Robert Lee HS, Sterling City HS, and the ASU Coaches Bible Study.

FCA is also represented heavily at Angelo State in the ASU Campus Huddle, Football Team, Baseball Team, Men’s and Women’s Basketball Team, Softball Team, Leadership Team, and the ASU Discipleship.
