SAN ANGELO, TX — Six San Angelo Fire Department Firefighters were honored at a retirement and promotion ceremony at the McNease Convention in San Angelo on Wednesday, September 21. Friends, family, and some prominent figures from around San Angelo gathered at the Convention Center to watch four members of the fire department receive promotions and two more go through their retirement ceremonies.

San Angelo Fire Chief Patrick Brody began the ceremony by introducing special guests in the audience. One of the guests was San Angelo’s mayor, Brenda Gunter. Genter took the podium to talk about the sacrifices these firemen make and thanked them for what they do.
Firemen receiving promotions:
- Christopher Little, Driver
- Travis Holle, Driver
- Sammy Westerman, Driver
- Eric Bryan, Lieutenant
Afterward, Brody introduced each of the firemen who received promotions, and the ceremonies began. Family pinned new badges on each of the four men as the audience looked on and applauded. Brody then introduced the two firemen who were retiring. He talked about each of the men and their careers before the two traded in their active badges and received their retirement badges.

When the ceremony concluded, people in the audience came to congratulate each of the men on their accomplishments. The crowd mingled together afterward, and the fire department presented a cake.
