SAN ANGELO – A larger-than-life statue of a Spanish Catholic Nun who appeared to Native Americans in the San Angelo area and is now headed for Sainthood stands along the banks of the Concho River in downtown San Angelo along with a companion statue of a local Humano Indian. There is a weekend long celebration including a dedication ceremony Saturday.

Saturday, August 12th
10 am - Procession from Celebration followed by dedication of Historic Beginnings of San Angelo site
2 pm - Caravan from the site to the historic painted rocks at the Campbell Ranch in Paint Rock
7 pm - Reception & veneration of relics at St. Joseph's Parish Hall
Sunday, August 13, 10 am
Mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral celebrated by Bishop Michael Sis
