SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo man was indicted by a grand jury in July for crashing into a utility pole and injuring a passenger in his vehicle.
Nathaniel Sergei Huddleston, 22, was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for Accident Involving Injury after crashing his car into a utility pole and injuring his passenger.
According to court documents, on March 31, 2023, at 3:40 a.m., a vehicle crashed ion the 4100 block of South Jackson Street. The vehicle had left the roadway, crashed into and broke a utility pole, then came to a stop on the passenger side. The victim said the vehicle was on fire and had to crawl out of the window and the drive, identified as Huddleston, was not on scene.
The victim called for help as she was injured in the crash and was located a couple blocks away when she was taken to the hospital. She gave consent to an officer to access her phone where there was a video taken moments before the crash.
Investigators located the license plate from the crashed vehicle, which was registered to Enterprise Rental. The company was contacted who said the vehicle was rented to Huddleston.
Huddleston was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail on May 1, 2023, and is currently an inmate being held on $10,000 bond. Accident involving injury in usually a third-degree felony that carries a punishment of two to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Huddleston is next due in court on August 22, 2023, for an initial pre-trial.
