CHEYENNE, WY – A Concho Valley cowboy nearly won one of the nation's largest rodeos this past month.
PRCA Steer Wrestler Walt Arnold placed 3rd in the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo. Arnold scored a 6.7 in the final run, just behind Tristan Martin's 6.6 and Eli Lord's 5.9 seconds. This brought the Coleman Cowboy over $5,000, adding to his nearly $100,000 in earnings this season.
Arnold was not the only Concho Valley native in the rodeo either. Tate Thomas from Sterling City also competed in the rodeo.
The rodeo lasted throughout the month of July and handed out over $1 million in prize money.
