SAN ANGELO – That Excessive Heat Warning in place the last few days has been downgraded to a Heat Advisory for Saturday with Sunday expected to be the coolest hot day of the week.
National Weather Service meteorologists say the afternoon high temp Saturday will be 101 to 105 degrees and Sunday's high will only reach about 103.
Consequently, the conditions for a Heat Advisory or Excessive Heat Warning will not be reached Sunday; it's just going to be 'regular' hot, not 'unusually' hot.
Sunday will be the coolest day out of the next seven days as afternoon temps will creep back up to around 108 by mid week.
Whether it's regular hot or unusually hot, take the same precautions; stay hydrated, avoid the sun, take frequent breaks and take care of pets, the elderly and children.
Hot temperatures and uncomfortably humid conditions can cause heat related illnesses to occur especially for those working or recreating outdoors.
There are no days below 100 degrees in the short term forecast and there's no rain in the forecast for at least the next week.
