SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department has confirmed that a crash occurred on North Bryant following a police chase on Thursday morning.
According to the SAPD, on June 15, 2023, at approximately 10 a.m., officers identified a wanted suspect on 14th St. heading east. A pursuit ensued, and the suspect attempted to evade the police by driving on North Bryant in the wrong direction, southbound in the northbound lane.
Upon seeing a police cruiser approaching, the driver attempted a U-turn but lost control of the vehicle, hitting the curb and rolling over into a ditch.
The driver was arrested at the scene, although the full list of charges is currently unknown. However, it is likely that he will be charged with evading arrest with a vehicle, at the very least.
Fortunately, neither the driver nor any police officers sustained injuries in the crash. The Texas Rangers have taken over the investigation for reasons that have not been specified. San Angelo LIVE! has reached out to the Rangers for a statement on the matter.
