EARLY, TX – The Early ISD has confirmed Wednesday that there was an allegation that a gun was taken into an elementary school by a student Tuesday.
According to a release by the school district, Early ISD and Early PD are working on investigating the incident. As of now there is no threat to the public and no one was harmed.
The Early PD confirmed that they have added extra units at all campuses for the day.

On May 16, 2023 at around 5:50 p.m., school officials were notified that a gun had allegedly been brought on our elementary campus by a student. Immediately upon receiving this news the Early Police Department was notified and has been working hand in hand with school administration to properly investigate the allegations. After interviewing with staff, students, and parents, school administration and Early PD feel there is no active threat to students or staff on any campus. We will diligently continue to monitor the situation, as well as any others, together to ensure the safety and security of all our students and staff. We appreciate the due diligence of our Early ISD family in their notification, cooperation, and collaboration to ensure safety and security of all.
