SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department on Friday confirmed a bomb threat on Glenn Middle School. Luckily the campus was empty thanks to a student holiday.
According to the SAPD, on May 5, 2023, at around 9:45 a.m., officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the Glenn Middle School, at 2201 University Dr., for the report of a bomb threat.
The release did not say whether or not the threat was found credible. Despite that police are investigating the threat.
San Angelo LIVE! has reached out to the school district for a statement. As of now nothing has been received.
May 5 is a "Professional Day" and "Student Holiday" according to the San Angelo ISD calendar.

On 5/05/23 at 9:41, the SAPD was dispatched to 2201 University (Glenn Middle School) for a report of a bomb threat. Students and staff were not on campus for a student holiday and professional learning day. The San Angelo Police Department, San Angelo Fire Department along with SAISD District leaders and campus administrators immediately began an investigation. The investigation is currently on-going and further information will be released if it becomes available.

The following statement was issued by San Angelo ISD:
San Angelo ISD and Glenn Middle School were made aware of an alleged bomb threat to the campus this morning, May 5, 2023. Students and staff are not on campus for a student holiday and professional learning day. District leaders and campus administrators immediately began an investigation in conjunction with the San Angelo Police Department and Fire Department, and took immediate action. The investigation is currently on-going.
We take all matters of this nature seriously and will follow procedures outlined in our Student Code of Conduct. The safety of our students is our first priority. We encourage everyone to report threats of any kind to a district or school official, local law enforcement, or report the concern on our district StayAlert link on the SAISD website.
