SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo woman has been indicted for using a disabled individual’s credit card to buy herself food.
Kristin Lee Martinez, also known as Kristin Weber, 41, has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for credit or debit card abuse of an elderly disabled woman.
According to court documents, on February 23, 2023, investigators spoke with the Assistant Director of Daybreak who advised that she had noticed an unauthorized transaction on the victim’s debit card. This transaction occurred on December 18, 2022, and the Assistant Director told the investigator that the defendant, Weber, works for Daybreak and was the case manager who handles several client’s purchases.
The investigator reviewed the victim’s bank statement from the time and at around 12:35 p.m., the unauthorized transaction for the amount of $54.69 was made at the Wal-Mart at 610 West 29th Street.
The victim’s legal guardian told the investigator the purchase was without his or the victim’s consent to use the card or to purchase food items.
Investigators spoke with Daybreak staff who said the victim is disabled, non-verbal and much eat special food. Then she said the food items allegedly purchased at Wal-Mart by Weber were not given to the victim or placed at the home where the victim resides.
The investigator reviewed Wal-Mart security footage from the 610 29th Street location and Weber was allegedly observed purchasing food items with the victim’s credit card.
Weber was arrested on February 24th, 2023, and was released the on March 3, 2023, after posting a $30,000 bond.
