Wind Advisory Issued for the Concho Valley

SAN ANGELO – Gusty strong winds behind a spring cold front are blowing around loose objects and making driving especially high profile vehicles difficult in the Concho Valley, so the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory in effect for the area until 9 p.m. Friday night.

According to the NWS, gusty north winds of 15 to 25 mph are gusting to 45 mph and will continue well after dark.

Winds this strong can blow around unsecured objects and make driving high profile vehicles like 18-wheel trucks difficult.

While no rain or hail is expected in San Angelo and the surrounding counties, heavy rain with large hail and dangerous lightning is expected from Brady east and northeast Friday night.

There is no rain in the seven day forecast for San Angelo and the surrounding area.

This is a developing weather situation.
