Trinity Administrator Trial Comes to Screeching Halt after DA Drops Charges

MIDLAND, TX – The trial of the Midland Trinity School Administrators came to a screeching halt in Midland District Court Wednesday after the Midland County District Attorney's Office dropped all the charges.

As previously reported, on Apr. 17, 2023, the trial against the Midland Trinity School administers began. The four were accused of failure to report child abuse after a student under 14 claimed she was raped on campus by another student. For the original story see: Midland Trinity School Administrators Sexual Assault Coverup Trial Underway

After a week and a half of testimony, the DA's office dropped all the charges. Defense attorney Frank Sellers says that this should have never gone to trial in the first place.

The following is a statement from the Trinity Administrators Defense Attorney Frank Sellers:

"For 425 days, the Trinity Administrators have suffered under the weight of false accusations. The Trinity family has been without its leaders, mentors, and role models. We know now that, at Lauren Nodolf’s direction, these people were arrested at school, led out in handcuffs in front of the children on the easily disproven word of a troubled teen and her disgruntled mother.

Now after 10 days of trial, and only half of their witness is testifying, the prosecutors finally recognize what has been apparent since day one—these people should never have been arrested, charged, or tried in the first place.

These continued baseless prosecutions have come at enormous costs, not only to dedicated professionals, but also to Midland County taxpayers. Today’s dismissal is a hollow victory and only partial justice, but stay tuned."
