SAN ANGELO – 8 individuals were booked into the Tom Green County Detention Center in the last 24 hours on charges including a major Motor Fuels Tax Violation, Assault and Public Intoxication.
A 33-year-old man was arrested Thursday by Sterling County Sheriff's Deputies on a warrant for a Violation of Motor Fuels Tax Requirements out of Comal County. Yeison Valdes-Nubiola, 33, was booked into the Tom Green County Jail at 3:14 p.m. Thursday and his bond is listed at $25,000.
The Violation of Motor Fuels Tax Requirements could be transporting fuel without a license or using a credit card skimmer.
According to the Capetillo Law Firm, "The first violation of Texas law involves transporting motor fuel without the proper licenses or transportation documents. This violation of Texas law has been around as long as the motor fuel tax. However, the second primary violation of Texas law has recently emerged as a viable threat to both state coffers and consumers that fall victim to credit card skimming crimes.
By stealing credit or debit card information, someone can purchase large quantities of motor fuel and then sell the motor fuel on the open market at a discount. Law enforcement agencies in Texas are finding different state statutes to prosecute individuals that use stolen credit and debit cards to purchase bulk motor fuel. Some of these statutes are Motor Fuel tax statutes."
San Angelo LIVE! makes no assumptions or representations about guilt or innocence of anyone on the booking report. Regardless of the headline, individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Information on the site should not be used to determine any person’s actual criminal record.
The charges listed in this booking report are taken directly from information provided by the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office and Jail. They are not altered in any way and may or may not be the actual charges filed against the individual. If the charges appear incorrect in this report, that incorrect information originated in the District Attorneys office. According to the Sheriff's Office, the charges and bail amounts may change after court appearances and may not be current.
The bond amounts listed on the booking report are initial amounts recorded during the booking process. Actual bonds are set by magistrate judges, usually Justices of the Peace, within 24 hours of an individual's arrest and are updated on the jail website.
