Matthew Kimball has accepted the position of Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Professional Development. Kimball, who currently serves as Executive Director of Schools and lnstructional Technology, holds a bachelor of science degree from Abilene Christian University and a Master's in Education from Texas Woman's University.
He has completed doctoral course work through Texas A&M Commerce and his dissertation is in progress. Prior to joining the SAISD administrative team, Mr. Kimball served as a campus principal for twelve years in Frisco lSD, where he spearheaded instructional technology initiatives. ln 2006, his campus was named a National Blue Ribbon School. Under his leadership, his campus achieved Exemplary status for eleven out of twelve years.
As a San Angelo ISD administrator, Kimball has been highly involved with principal supervision. His campuses include Glenmore EIementary, which received the highest honors bestowed as a TEA Rewards School; Lee Middle School, which was selected as one of three schools in the nation for the George W. Bush lnstitute's Middle School Matters initiative, and Santa Rita Elementary, which was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2014. He has been involved with the Texas Principal's Visioning lnstitute in addition to being a presenter at national and state conferences.
Prior to coming to the San Angelo ISD, Kimball served as a campus principal for 12 years in Frisco. In 2006 his campus was named a National Blue Ribbon School and achieved Exemplary status for nine out of ten years.
Kimball and his wife Jennifer have been married 23 years and have a son and a daughter.
He will begin his new assignment at the district on July 1.
