NWS: Slight Chance of Severe Weather Sunday

SAN ANGELO – The Concho Valley will experience a warming trend over the weekend as the weather turns from cloudy and cool to sunny and windy with a very slight chance of severe storms.

According to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo, there is a chance of severe weather north of a Sweetwater to Brownwood line Sunday evening.  A few storms may become severe in the San Angelo area but the chance is very small.

Damaging winds and large hail will be the main threats with any of the storms that make it to severe levels, but meteorologists say an isolated tornado is a slight possibility.

After the storms pass heading into next week, warm and dry weather returns and extreme fire weather danger will increase.

There is only a 30% chance of storms Sunday in the Concho Valley.  Winds will be 25 to 35 mph and gusty with a high temperature around 80 degrees.

Look for a warming trend starting Monday.
