SAN ANGELO— A violent and intoxicated San Angelo man has been sentenced for kicking hospital staff and trying to take a taser from an officer and spitting on him.
Andreas Sanchez, 25, was indicted in January by a Tom Green County grand jury for harassment of a public servant and attempting to take a weapon from a peace officer.
According to court documents, on November 8, 2022, at around 10:30 p.m., San Angelo Police officers responded to the 1700 block of Greenwood Street regarding a domestic disturbance. Once on scene, officers located and arrested Sanchez for public intoxication. While in custody, Sanchez began banging his head against the window bars of the patrol vehicle so hard he rendered himself unconscious. Medics were called and transported Sanchez to Shannon Medical Center.
At Shannon, Sanchez allegedly began trying to harm hospital staff by kicking at them and trying to spit at officers. While putting a spit mask on Sanchez, he began to reach for an officer’s taser that was attached to his vest. Sanchez repeatedly stated “give me that taser” to the officer as he attempted to grab it from him. Enough force was exhibited that Sanchez had removed the grip from the taser but did not remove the taser from its holster.
Sanchez was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on November 9, 2022, and was in court on February 14, 2023. In exchange for a guilty plea, Sanchez was sentenced to three years deferred adjudication probation.

Another one gets probation. I'm sure he will walk the straight and narrow now ... when pigs fly.
