SAN ANGELO – The driver and passenger in an SUV that careened out of the H-E-B parking lot were injured when the vehicle struck a utility pole during drive time Wednesday afternoon.
According to the San Angelo Police Department Traffic Division investigating officer, the silver or beige Oldsmobile Bravada ran the stop sign leaving the original H-E-B parking lot on Ave. N at Harris Ave. at a high rate of speed crossed the lanes of traffic and smashed into a utility pole.

The Oldsmobile SUV sustained major damage to the front end and the utility pole was also damaged according to the officer.
Both the driver and passenger in the SUV were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver will be issued a citation for failure to control speed.
