Razor-wielding Ex Arrested After Assaulting GF on Valentine's Day

SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo man has been arrested after he sliced his ex-girlfriend’s face with a razor.

According to the arrest affidavit, San Angelo police were dispatched to the 100 block of East 9th Street regarding a domestic disturbance on February 14, 2023. While enroute, the call notes stated a male and female were arguing, and the male had cut the female with a knife.

On scene, officers attempted to get the suspect, identified as Jacob Moya, to exit the residence. Moya came out onto the porch but allegedly kept his hand inside the door frame and would not follow commands. The responding officers noticed a box cutter on Moya’s person.

Then, officers went hands-on with Moya to prevent him from grabbing the box cutter. After this, Moya was detained and did have a razor blade in his possession.

The victim stated to officers that she was cut with a knife by Moya and then was transported to Shannon Medical Center. Investigators made contact with the victim and advised she lived next door to Moya and that they had been in a dating relationship. The victim informed investigators that she and Moya had been arguing through phone calls, messages, and SnapChat for several days. The victim also said her new boyfriend was arriving in town and that was the reason Moya was upset.

The victim said that she walked across the yard and Moya attacked her. Moya had allegedly pulled her by the hair, cut her face, and said he would kill her and her new boyfriend.

An interview was conducted with the new boyfriend who stated that the victim and Moya were instigating each other and alleged that the victim was going to have Moya removed from the duplex by the landlord. The boyfriend said that when they had arrived, the victim had gotten out of the vehicle and pushed Moya three times. Then, Moya allegedly grabbed the victim by the neck. The boyfriend exited the vehicle to the victim claiming Moya had cut her.

An interview with Moya was performed where Moya stated the victim threatened to kill his dogs. Also, Moya alleges that the victim had a dagger in her pocket that he could see but that she was not actively holding it. Then, Moya stated to the investigator he meant to push the victim but accidently cut her face with a razor and also advised that he had “lost it” earlier in the day.

Moya is currently in the Tom Green County Detention Facility being held on $25,000 bond.
