Weather Related Closures & Delays

SAN ANGELO. TX – Schools and businesses across the Concho Valley have began making plans to shut down due to the inclement weather.

The following schools and businesses have made changes to their schedules due to inclement weather: 

Angelo State University - Due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, Angelo State University will be closing at 11 a.m. and classes will be cancelled for the rest of the day on Monday, Jan. 30. Essential staff personnel should contact their direct supervisor for further instruction.

Classes will resume at 11 a.m. Tuesday.  All classes before 10 a.m. have been canceled. 

UPDATE 9 p.m. 

Angelo State University - Due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, classes at Angelo State University have been cancelled and the university will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

Ballinger ISD - Due to deteriorating weather conditions, we will be releasing school at 1:00pm today(1/30). Buses will run at this time. Please be on the look out for specific campus information for picking up your student. We will have a 10:00 start in the morning (1/31). Please be safe driving due to slick spots being on the road. Updated basketball information will be posted as soon as it is known.

Catholic Diocese of San Angelo - The offices of the Diocese of San Angelo will be closed Tuesday, January 31, due to anticipated hazardous road conditions.

City of San Angelo Trash Pickup -UPDATE: Trash pickup will not operate on Tuesday, Jan. 31 due to inclement weather. Please place your bins out for normal pickup and leave them out until they are serviced. The City will provide updates as more information becomes available

All City offices will open at 10 a.m.

Concho Educators Federal Credit Union - Locations across town will open up at 10 a.m. 

Crocket County CCSD - Late Start! CCCCD and Ozona Head Start will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan 31, and Wednesday, Feb. 1.

Eden ISD - Eden CISD will have a 2pm dismissal today, Mon, Jan 30, to allow time for roads to be treated and extra time for our staff members to commute home safely.

Grape Creek ISD -  Grape Creek ISD canceled classed for Tuesday, Jan. 31. Classes have also been canceled for Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023.  Classes will resume Thursday.   

Howard College - Due to inclement weather all Howard College San Angelo campuses will be closing early on Monday, 1/30/23 at 11:30am. All classes are canceled and all offices will be closed. A decision regarding potential delays/closures for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, will be made later this evening. Continue checking email, social media, or howardcollege.edu for updates.  Howard College San Angelo will be closed for bad weather on Tuesday 1/31/23.

Miles ISD - Miles ISD will release today, January 30th at 1:00pm. School will be canceled for January 31st. We will monitor the weather conditions for Wednesday, February 1st.

National Prayer Breakfast San Angelo –  The National Prayer Breakfast scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023 in San Angelo has been canceled.  The National Prayer Breakfast will return next year on Feb. 1, 2024 with guest speaker Sheila Walsh. 

Orangetheory Fitness - They are cancelling classes on 1/30/23 at 4:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m., as well as the 5am and 6:05 a.m. classes on 1/31/23. If you have any questions feel free to give them a call at 325-703-2016.

Premier High School - San Angelo will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 31.

Reagan County ISD - School Canceled. RCISD will not have school on Tuesday 1/31 and Wednesday 2/1 due to bad weather.

Robert Lee ISD – Robert Lee ISD schools are closed Tuesday, Jan. 31.  

San Angelo ISD - Due to anticipated icy road conditions on bridges and overpasses and continued precipitation and freezing temperatures throughout the afternoon, San Angelo ISD students and staff will have an early release today, January 30, 2023. For the safety of our young drivers, high school students at Central High School, Central High School on Oakes, and Lake View High School and middle school students at Glenn Middle School, Lincoln Middle School, and Lone Star Middle School will have an early release at 11:30 am today, January 30, 2023. Buses will run at 12:00 pm noon. Lunch will be served and available in the cafeteria until 12:00 pm noon. Elementary will be released and parents/guardians may begin picking up their elementary students at 1:00 pm today, January 30, 2023. Buses will run shortly after release and lunch will be served. All games and athletic events have been canceled. SAISD has been in constant contact with the National Weather Service, TxDOT, the Department of Public Safety and other local agencies. The safety of our students and staff are our top priority. A decision regarding potential delays/closures for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, will be made later this evening. It is important to note that decisions made regarding school delays and/or closures are not based on temperature, but icy road conditions that make travel dangerous.

UPDATE 5 p.m. 

San Angelo ISD - Due to a winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service and anticipated icy road conditions on bridges and overpasses, San Angelo ISD will be operating on a 2-hour delayed schedule tomorrow, January 31, 2023 for the safety of our students and staff. Buses will run two hours later than normal pick up time. Additional details:

• Elementary school students should report to their normal classroom. 
• Middle school students should report to their first period classroom as they will operate on a compressed schedule. This means students will go to all classes but for a shorter period of time. 
• High school students should report to their 3rd period classroom as they will begin with that class period. Any activities regularly scheduled during 1st and 2nd period will be canceled for the day.

SAISD has been in constant contact with the National Weather Service, TxDOT, the Department of Public Safety, and other local agencies. In addition, SAISD crews drive the roads to assess driving conditions. A decision regarding potential closures for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, can be made anytime tomorrow morning prior to 10am. It is important to note that decisions made regarding school delays and/or closures are not based on temperature, but icy road conditions that make travel dangerous. 

UPDATE 9 p.m. 

San Angelo ISD - Due to a winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service and anticipated icy weather conditions which cause dangerous driving situations for our families and young drivers, San Angelo ISD campuses and offices will be CLOSED Tuesday, January 31, 2023 for the safety of our students and staff.

San Angelo TLCA - Texas Leadership is actively monitoring the current weather conditions and will have an EARLY RELEASE today (Mon, January 30, 2023) at 12:30 p.m. for our campuses. Please keep your eyes on our website, and social media page in addition to your e-mail and text for the latest. In the event of further delays or closures due to inclement weather, we will quickly update utilizing District resources. Buses will run on an Early Release schedule. Thank you, District Administration

UPDATE 4 p.m. San Angelo TLCA will have a two-hour delay on Tuesday, January 31st, 2023, out of an abundance of caution regarding the icy conditions due to weather. All TLCA San Angelo campus’ and offices will be closed Tuesday, January 31, 2023 due to winter weather

WEATHER UPDATE: Campuses Closed Tuesday, January 31, 2023

All TLCA San Angelo campus’ and offices will be closed Tuesday, January 31, 2023 due to winter weather along with road conditions and expected temperatures that will remain below freezing. The safety of our students, teachers and families remain a priority.

Please check our website, and social media page in addition to your e-mail and text for the latest. We will continue to monitor weather conditions on Tuesday to determine if conditions will impact school for Wednesday. No determination has been made at this time.

Schleicher County ISD - Big Lake Game is canceled. SCISD will have a 10 a.m. start Tuesday Jan. 31. Buses will run two hours late.

Texas Trust FCU – All branches statewide Closed Tuesday, Jan. 31.  

Tom Green County - County courts and offices closing at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30.  Two hour delay start tomorrow, Jan. 31, 2023.  Commissioners Court meeting two hours late beginning at 10:30 a.m.

All Tom Green Offices will be closed on Jan. 31, 2023. 

Veribest ISD - In an abundance of caution, VISD has made the decision that the safest option for our students today is a 12 noon release. Busses will run at 12:00. Please stay safe on the roads. Parents may sign their children out at any time before noon.

Wall ISD - School has been delayed until 10 a.m. for Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023.

UPDATE 9 p.m. 

Wall ISD - Due to hazardous weather conditions, Wall ISD will be closed tomorrow.  As of now Wall ISD will have a 10:00 a.m. start on Wednesday, February 1st.

Winters ISD - Winters ISD will be closed January 30th due to inclement weather conditions. The roads in and around Winters are bad.
