SAN ANGELO, TX — It’s official. Convicted murderer Abel Rueda will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

On Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, the jury sentenced Rueda to life in prison for murdering Juan Quintana. The jury deliberated for just over two hours before deciding his fate.
With a murder a defendant can be sentenced from 5-99 years or life in prison. In this case Rueda was given to the maximum sentence.
