SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo man was arrested for stalking, harassment, assault, and threatening to publish intimate materials after his girlfriend broke up with him.
According to court documents, the suspect, identified as Keno Watkins, was arrested on January 12, 2023, for harassment, stalking, assault, and threatening to publish intimate material after his girlfriend broke up with him.
Back on December 15, 2022, a report was made regarding an assault that occurred at the 3300 block of Sherwood Way. In this report, the victim stated that as she was leaving work, she was approached by Watkins and was assaulted. The assault caused visible swelling and pain in her left lip area.
Investigators were conducting a follow up on the assault related to this case and during the investigation, it was learned that several voice messages were sent to the victim on her phone. A copy of the messages was obtained and several threats were noted where Watkins states:
“imma make sure that youre F&^%&^%* getting hurt n*******”
“im gonna take you down”
Also listed is a statement regarding Watkin’s knowledge of the victim being scared and how she should “really be scared now”.
Numerous message and images from November 7th, 2022, and 9th 2022, stated that the victim:
“asked for this”
“don’t text me later saying why did this or that…”
“I know where u gonna be”
Investigators also noted on November 25th 2022, that Watkins had broken windows into the victim’s apartment, gained entry, and remained there until he was confronted by a witness before running away. The victim also had discovered damage to the lights on her vehicle on December 21, 2022.
This investigator also revealed that topless images of the victim were sent to the her friends and her mother. After meeting with the mother and the victim, investigators received a statement from the mother confirming receipt of the topless image and that she believed Watkins sent the photo base on other messages she received from him.
Investigators noted the message “I guess u didn’t know she smoked dope” below the screenshot image. The victim stated she sent Watkins the photo in confidence via Snapchat, a social media app, with him being the only intended recipient and with the expectation of privacy.
Then, on December 25, 2022, investigators learned of Snapchat messages from Watkins to the victim which read the victim’s name and the message, “Your dead”.
On January 11, 2023, Watkins was arrested and during a in custody interview, he waived his Miranda Rights and allegedly admitted to threatening communications as well as his actions which Watkins said was a response to the breakup.
Watkins is currently an inmate at the Tom Green County Detention Facility and has a $100,000 bond.
