Seven of 17 inmates booked into the county jail on Wednesday were there on charges alleged to have been committed within the last 24 hours.
Of those, four were charged with assault, three with marijuana possession and one with public intoxication. Another individual, 58-year-old Clayton Leroy Jones, was jailed for driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol level of 0.15 or greater. The remainder were booked on warrants, which included mostly capias and failure to appear warrants, plus various traffic offenses.
Nineteen inmates were released on Wednesday.
