WALL- A Wall high school student and golfing extraordinaire has signed to play golf at the next level!
Shay West has signed to play golf at Hardin-Simmons University and her coach and family couldn’t be prouder.
“It’s bittersweet for me, just like it’s bittersweet for Wall High School,” golf coach Rob Londerholm said, “This is kind of showing that the chapter for Shay is coming to an end, but the exciting for her is… that she gets the opportunity not a lot of high school students get to go and take her talents on to the next level.”
West was excited to sign and spoke about why she chose Hardin-Simmons.
“I love the atmosphere and just the whole entire feeling of Hardin-Simmons,” West said, “They have three golf courses that they have access to, which is awesome. Also, I’m Christian and they’re also a Christian school so I feel like I can develop me faith while I’m there. I just love how the entire campus feels, how at home I feel when I’m there. That was a main factor in it as well.”
