TxDOT: US 277 South Traffic Detour at Airport Road Tuesday

SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo District office of the Texas Department of Transportation has announced a detour beginning Tuesday morning on US-277 South at RM-584, airport road.

According to TxDOT, Tuesday, Nov. 22 -US 277 NB traffic will be detoured to RM 584 (Knickerbocker Rd) after 9 a.m. as crews place a "fog seal" on this portion of the highway.

This process will help stabilize the loose rock on the highway. Pilot car operations will be directing traffic on US 277 SB.

In addition, crews continue to sweep the roadway between San Angelo and Sonora. "Sweeping continues along US 277 between San Angelo and Sonora. The speed limit is now 60 mph.We saw several drivers passing these caravans unsafely today spewing rocks onto oncoming traffic as well as those they passed."Fog Sealing" of the road begins tomorrow (Tuesday)."
