SAN ANGELO, TX — Incoming Tom Green County Judge Lane Carter said that he will pay the $20 Uber toll a jilted jobseeker forked out to travel to a UPS job in San Angelo that didn’t exist early this morning.
According to our earlier report, one woman had to pay for an Uber to arrive by “Monday, November 21, 2022 at 7:50 a.m.” according to a hiring email she received from UPS. When she and about nine other people arrived on time at the San Angelo UPS office this morning, they were told the jobs for which they had just been hired didn’t exist.
“They told us that corporate had outsourced the delivery of extra packages to another company but still hired us without telling the San Angelo office,” said another worker tricked by the corporate HR scheme. The emails came from UPS’s San Antonio office.
Carter texted us this afternoon offering to reimburse the $20 Uber charge to the job seeking woman who was disappointed by UPS. Carter had nothing to do with UPS fake job scam but wanted to offer a helping hand. If you were that woman, please contact us at [email protected] and we will connect you with Mr. Carter.
