SAN ANGELO – Baptist Retirement Community is now accepting donated holiday gifts for the senior adults residing at the faith-based, nonprofit senior living community. Items will be distributed to residents in independent living and health care (assisted living, memory care, and nursing) the week of Christmas.
“A gift as simple as warm socks or toiletries is an easy way to remind a senior they are loved and valued around the holidays,” said Erin Kelly, director of marketing for Baptist Retirement Community. “Walking around the community and distributing the donated Christmas gifts is one of my favorite parts of working at Baptist Retirement Community. It shows how much San Angelo cares.”
The Baptist Retirement Community wish list includes toiletries, throw blankets, calendars, socks, individually wrapped snacks, adult arts and crafts, large print crossword puzzles and word search puzzles, adult coloring books, blank greeting cards, reusable water bottles, hats, gloves, ballpoint pens, small writing tablets, and manicure sets.
Organizers prefer the gifts not be wrapped, so it’s easy to identify which resident would most enjoy it. Donated items can be dropped off Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. until Dec. 16. Baptist Retirement Community is located at 902 N. Main Street.
