North Side BBQ Joint Officially Opens Thursday Morning

SAN ANGELO – A new BBQ restaurant has opened on the north side of San Angelo Thursday.

Smitty's Smokehouse, located at 2402 Martin Luther King Dr., held a soft opening on Thursday morning. During the opening they served breakfast foods and of course BBQ.

Daniel Smith and his crew have been working on opening the new restaurant since May of this year. After months of changes inside of the building the restaurant was ready to open.

Smitty's Smokehouse is in the former Fatty's Grill building. They are open Monday through Saturday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The smokehouse serves breakfast and offers a variety of items including breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, and breakfast plates.

Once breakfast is over the real food comes out. For lunch Smitty's serves BBQ favorites such as brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and more. An eye catching option on the menu is the brisket grilled cheese and the loaded spuds. The soft opening will continue into Saturday where they will be open 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. for breakfast and then 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch.
